The official Terraform provider for Twingate's zero-trust platform. Designed and built end-to-end, then maintained on an ongoing basis since April 2022 — including framework migration, schema evolution, breaking-change navigation, and steady versioned releases through every Twingate API revision.

Approach

How a provider gets built, in four steps.

Map the API surface

We start by surveying your API with you — what's stable, what's changing, what's worth modeling as a Terraform resource and what isn't. The provider's shape is decided here, not in code.

Design the schema

Resource shapes, computed-vs-configurable fields, plan modifiers, import semantics, deprecation paths. Schema design is the highest-leverage decision — it's the contract every consumer's HCL will be written against.

Build with tests

Unit tests for translation logic; acceptance tests against a real environment for everything else. We don't ship resources we can't test against the actual API — and we keep the test environment running long after launch.

Ship and maintain

Registry publishing, semver discipline, signed releases, deprecation paths, and a maintenance footing that survives both your API revisions and Terraform's framework changes. The point of a provider isn't launch — it's everything that comes after.

We've been building Terraform and IaC providers since 2021. Our work is hosted under our clients' own GitHub organizations, maintained continuously, and tested against real environments. We say no to engagements where we couldn't do the work properly.
